Kyle Orton @ 10:35 pm
After watching Friday night's Bears game, I am beyond convinced that Kyle Orton should be the starting QB for the regular season. I've been saying this since he got drafted, but now I really, really mean it.
Chad Hutchingson is not a bad QB, he's just not rigth for the Bears' offense. He has a slow release, which is horrible because the Bears have no offensive line to speak of. They need to "get a fuckin' pocket going" as my friend last year. Kyle Orton, however, has a lightning fast release and has had less sacks than most QBs since he was at Purdue.
Statistically, Orton is better. In Friday night's game against the Bills, Orton had a higher pass completion rate. He threw a touchdown, while Hutchingson threw two interceptions.
Also, the fans love Kyle (and why shouldn't they?). The crowd cheered when he was on the field. They booed (sp?) Chad when he came back on the field after the first series. The fans know best.
I hope Lovie will come to his senses and make Orton the starting QB, followed by Kitner, Hutchingson, and then Blake.
