MCR is coming to my city in March and I swear if my parents don't let me go (for the third time -___-) someone is going to get hurt. I would risk my life to see this band and they don't get that... grr.

From an interview with Gerard Way:

MusicPix: We’ve talked a lot about emotions. And it appears that you guys have touched a hot spot because life is hard. MCR has touched a hot-spot that seems to be prevalent (and necessary) for all of us to deal with and that’s the ability to cope with the dark side of life- the duality of life. You’re obviously reaching folks with ‘issues’- what’s it like to have that kind of therapeutic influence?

Gerard: It great because it works really well…because the band started as my therapy… and then it became the band’s therapy… and that’s how we functioned for about seven months. And then it became other people’s therapy so it just made sense. Now it’s to the point where it’s a lot people’s therapy. And that’s really what the live shows are. It‘s a cathartic release of so much positive and negative energy being shot back and forth- and that’s what the live show has become. And our fans, we have the best fans in the world! We’re just starting to scratch the surface with our fans…they are the loudest, they are the craziest, they feel like our army. I can’t remember the last time I saw a band –not just have a room full of fans but to have an actual army. That’s really what they feel like when we play. We’ve actually tried to make the message slightly more positive live because I realize how impressionable some people can be.

I need to write a letter to a soldier in Iraq for school. Does anyone know someone serving overseas?
Happy Wednesday.

hope u get to see MCR. that would be awesome. I'd LOVE to be able to see them in concert, but sadly they aren't playing anywhere near here. the closest place is probably 5-6 hours [at least] away. MCR is awesome!

thanks. i hope i get to go too! :P

you ARE lucky that you've seen them twice. i've heard from people who've gone to their concerts that they don't really sound any different live than they do in their recordings. is that true?

their music is just like... raw emotion. it's incredible, you know?

No, thats definitely not true... Gerard's vocals are the same but they actually play around with the song to make it sound better sometimes. But no, they are incredible live.

yeah... they came to downtown Chicago (like forty five minutes away from where i live) twice in the past six months and my parents wouldn't let me go because it "wasn't safe" for me and a group of other teenage girls to be walking around there at night.
bleh.

Oh my gosh, MCR is coming to Chicago???

Ahh! I neeeed to see them. But i highly doubt my mom will let me. The only concert i ever went to was the Beach Boys. And there were all old people there. Ughh, well i'll try and ask. Lol. My birthday is coming up so i'll tell her it can be a birthday present. Haha.

Hmm i did know someone over in Iraq (my brothers best friend) buuut he got sent home cuzz he was injured. Do you still need to write the letter or was it already due?? Because maybe he has some friends over there still.

Yeah. They're coming to the Allstate Arena on March 1st with Rise Against. My parents haven't even let me go to a Beach Boys' concert so I doubt that I'll be going either! I hope you can go for your b-day, tho. If you can go and I can't, I WANT PICTURES!! XD

The letter thing is just something we can do for Mu Alpha Theta hours, and it's not due for a while. It's okay... I'll find someone else. Thanks, tho.
